SPRINGFIELD – Michelle Pelotte, a 48-year-old woman, spit on two Springfield police officers on Monday afternoon while refusing to leave a home on Marsden St.
During the incident Pelotte claimed to be COVID-19 positive.
Both officers must now self-quarantine and await COVID-19 test results.
Police were responding to a call of a woman violating a restraining order and refusing to leave,
According to police, Pelotte has a history of assault and battery against Police Officers and appeared to be intoxicated. The incident took place after she refused to cooperate with officers.
Pelotte was transported to a local hospital and will be charged with two felonies.
One Springfield Police Officer has previously tested positive for COVID-19. It is unknown how he contracted the virus.
