CHICOPEE – The Chicopee Police Department has posted a compliance update on its Facebook page reporting that some essential businesses in Chicopee have agreed to new restrictions that begin on April 1.
Walmart, BJ’s, Big Y, Stop and Shop, Home Depot and Price Rite have all agreed to limit no more than 200 people in a store at a single time.
Shoppers will have to wait outside once capacity is met.
The stores have also agreed to close off areas where non-essential goods are displayed. This included clothing, toys, electronics, sporting goods and seasonal items.
Compliance officers and inspectors with the board of health will also be visiting other businesses in Chicopee designated as essential to enforce the same restrictions.
